Focus Groups

CABLE …. IT’S MORE THAN TV!

Your Community … Your Voice … Your Future
FALL RIVER COMMUNITY MEDIA WILL HOST FOCUS GROUPS TO EXPLORE
COMMUNITY MEDIA, TECHNOLOGY, AND CABLE

Fall River will soon be negotiating a new franchise agreement with Comcast, and you can play an important part in the process.

Renewing our local franchise presents a unique opportunity to meet the city’s communications needs, based on input from the public. This is a chance for citizens, schools, community groups, businesses, and local government to identify the services and resources they’d like to be available through the Comcast system for the next 10 years.

To enable you to provide input, FRCMedia is hosting a series of focus groups, and we encourage you to participate. You will learn:

  • How the franchise renewal works and the rights of the city and citizens during the process.
  • New ways that schools, nonprofits, local governments, and businesses throughout the country are using media technology to communicate, educate, and distribute information.
  • How our local community media and public, educational, and government access channels and services (FRCMedia, FRED-TV, and FRGTV) serve Fall River.

The focus groups will be conducted by The Buske Group, a consulting firm nationally recognized as a leader in cable regulation, franchise renewals, and cable-related public opinion research. All groups are open to the public, and the presentation at each will be identical -- attend whichever session is most convenient for your schedule.

Sign up today, share your feedback, and help to determine the future of community media in Fall River.  Free admission, refreshments, and door prizes including tickets to Picture Show, Domino's Pizza gift certificates, and more!
